Coaching Bow’s Story
An opportunity was presented requiring the recruitment of a cadre of coaches. A process of advertising, screening and selection resulted in a database of highly skilled professionals being revealed. Unfortunately, the opportunity was impacted by an unprecedented climate that created a new normal and compromised budgets. The unique group of ‘vetted’ professionals were viewed by the project leader as serendipitous and visioned the opportunity to create a powerful force of highly experienced, uniquely skilled, culturally competent African heritage professionals who could market their USP to a cross-sector market needing bold professionals to unlock the potential within their workforce. Coaching Bow was formed.
Following considerable investment and processes, mission, vision and core values were revealed. The commitment of the consortium has been forged in a shared vision to inspire, enlighten and empower individuals to provide a fresh and confident approach to inclusion, diversity, equality, leadership and empowerment to enhance the strategic goals of organisations. The brand and its corporate image is steeped in a rich history linked to the folklore of Okomfo Anokye.
According to oral tradition, Okomfo Anokye, a High Priest and one of the two founders of the Ashanti nation Golden Stool, decorated with golden bells. It descended from the sky where it landed at the feet of the Asantehene (King of Asante) Osei Tutu.
The stool remains as a significant symbol of succession and power. It is designed and carved from a single block of Alstonia boonei (a tall forest tree) and carved with a crescent-shaped seat, flat base and complex support structure with varied meaningful design. The seat represents authority of the Asantehene and enshrines the Spirit of the nation, umoja (unity) and associated promise. It levitates, never touching the ground and is carried in processionals. Sitting on it equates to being seated on a power throne. This is Coaching Bow’s gift and foundation.

We apply the same rigour to ourselves as we offer to our clients so we captured and examined who we are and what we offer, then analysed the results which revealed the specialisms of all our coaches. The results provided the evidence to support our unique confident assertion that we are highly qualified, skilled professionals committed to delivering the highest standard of coaching in any organisation.
